This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I became 3rd in =Amersill´s Backlight Photo Contest The first contest I have won and my first interview ever And It later even got featured as a DD !
1) Tell us something about you: real name, age, work, passions;
I´m Alexander Ens an 18 year old boy who will have his Abitur by the end of this schoolyear. Will you stalk me now
I think the best way to get to know ones personality is asking him about his future plans... And I really have no clue what to do So perhaps it´s really better to just tell you about my passions .
I really love the art of photography ( guess no one saw that coming xD) and all kind of sports like swimming, basketball, snowboarding and so on... I also love to travel and am interested in different countries, cultures and their philosophy. I like watching movies, shows or documentaries, which are worth watching and so I also really like watching anime. Believe it or not but there are really some animeshows or films you would regret not to have watched Furthermore I like reading, when I´m reading .. and that doesn´t happen very often Actually I rather like shortstories and quotes like " The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones." They stack the wisdom of a whole story in one page or even one sentence. Of course you also can call me a very lazy person
2) Which is your approach with the Photography?
To be straight I see Photography as my hobby not even my skill. I´m by no means a professional and have still a lot to learn and a lot of experience to make.
I just try to capture moments, which are worth capturing and having fun. I mostly never have a plan of what exactly I´m going shoot, I just look for interesting motifs and try to get a good composition. I hope that with time and practice I will improve my feeling of what has to get in and what to exclude. The most time consuming but absolutely necessary part is selecting and editing the Photos on my 5 year old PC. Therefore I often tend to being too lazy to do anything with the photographs. I think a good photograph should evoke some kind of emotion, be it serenity, tranquility, fun, sympathy, horror ,lonesomeness ,compassion, melancholy or just makes you . No seriously I just like to hear the clicking sounds of my camera
3) Did you think to be the winner of the Backlight Photocontest 2008? I still think it´s a bad joke or something. I never won a photocontest so far.
4) When, where and how have you realized your photo?
It was a thrilling cold night without snow and me and my friends decided to go ice skating on our standard solitary little lake again. This time I took my camera with me and when the sun started setting I went to the shore and tried to achieve a high angle so the skaters wouldn´t blend into the dark trees but are silhouetted against the ice, which reflected the sunlight. I did this shot with my dad´s digicam IXUS , which had live view (seeing the motif in the display) as all little digicams. I could easily held the camera above my head and compose it. Then I just waited for some good moments and pressed the shutter as fast as I could. I of course then just kept the best one. The idea to crop it and heavily increasing the saturation came when I found it in an old folder and played around a bit. Sounds like I planned it all out but it really was pretty spontaneous
6) Which is your favourite photo (from your gallery) and why? It really always changes and depends on my mood but for now I would choose because of it´s warm, soft colours and the expression of my nephew ^^
8) Would you tell us something more?
I´m German but was born in Kazakhstan And I recently found a talk from James Nachtwey about his live as warphotographer, very interesting [link] .
